Irish-Australian, Dr. Zohl dé Ishtar was nominated to the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 as one of the "1000 Peace Women Around the World" campaign. Zohl is a co-founder of the Kapululangu Aboriginal Women's Law and Culture Centre, along with the Women Elders of Balgo Aboriginal Community in Western Australia. She lived and worked with the Women Elders from September 1998 to October 2018, where she was the Executive Director. With a background in circus and puppetry, Zohl researched the impact of White Culture on Indigenous women of Australia and the Pacific for over 40 years and has run workshops on unlearning racism and cultural collaboration in over 27 countries. Her PhD is in Women's Studies, backed by two Master degrees in Social Sciences. View more posts
